My Favorite Restaurants in Savannah, GA

My Favorite Restaurants in Savannah, GA

What’s the first question you ask when you’re visiting somewhere new? For me, it’s always, “Where are the best places to eat?!” I was pleasantly surprised by the food in Savannah, out of the ten restaurants we visited there was only one we didn’t like. There are so many great restaurants in Savannah and I’m so excited to share these awesome spots with you. Whether you’re looking for oysters, spaghetti or the best ice cream in the world, Savannah’s got you covered.

Breakfast in Savannah

Breakfast isn’t a meal I get super excited for when I’m in my routine back home, but on vacation IT IS LIFE. There is nothing better than waking up and looking up what cute place we will be in eating our first meal of the day. Whether I’m up early enough to call it breakfast or wander in around Brunch time, Savannah took care of us in the breakfast department. Read on to learn about the two breakfast restaurants in Savannah I recommend most.

The Collins Quarter

The Collins Quarter was soooo adorable! We got here around 10 am and I was surprised there was only a 20 minute wait because there were a bunch of people waiting outside. Keep in mind this place is pretty busy from the moment they open until they close at 3 pm to take a break before they reopen for dinner. So, if you have a larger group get there early to get your name in right away.

I absolutely loved the decor in this place. So cute and so many fun and different areas to enjoy an awesome meal.

The menu had so many great options. As you can see, the avocado toast was the most popular order for our table and the chia pudding won for the most delicious. They also had some great breakfast cocktails to choose from!

B. Matthews’ Eatery

B. Matthew’s Eatery is another great option for breakfast or brunch in Savannah. This is where we went for our first breakfast on our trip and it couldn’t have been more perfect. So many great options on their menu and we all really loved our meals.

If you’re into bloody mary’s this is a great place to get one…

I had their Fried Green Tomato Crab Cake Benedict and it was awesome!

They also had great cocktails to go for when we walked around downtown after breakfast.

Lunch in Savannah

We didn’t really have a day where we sat down for lunch because our breakfast’ were more brunch time and then we just did some appetizers throughout the day while we had some yummy drinks. But, if you’re looking to sit down in between exploring Savannah here are some great restaurants in Savannah for lunch.

Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room

We didn’t make it to Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room but everyone says it’s the best Southern Cooking you can get in Savannah and the perfect place for lunch as it’s only open from 11am-2pm Monday-Friday. I can’t wait to go back next time I visit but for some weird reason southern food didn’t sound good to any of us when we were there. Make sure you get here early because they don’t take reservations and this place gets packed!

I’m going to sneak Collins Quarter and B. Matthew’s Eatery back in here just in case Mrs. Wilkes is too busy, because I had an awesome BLT sandwich at Collins Quarter and I was so torn at B. Matthew’s and almost got the bourbon bacon burger or reuben but chose the Crab Cake Benedict instead!

Dinner in Savannah

Dinner is where the restaurants in Savannah really blew me away and it’s because I was completely blindsided by having one of the best italian dinner’s I’ve ever had at the cutest little bistro so I will start there…

Bella Napoli Italian Bistro

Bistro Napoli Italian Bistro was sooooo damn good. There is nothing else to say. The girls were craving Italian food and to be honest I was like, “Italian in Savannah?! Why? I just want oysters.” But these badass women must have just known because holy shit this meal was so fun and delicious and simply perfect. The bistro is quite tiny so if you have a larger group I recommend calling ahead to see if they can accommodate you.

We ordered the La Dolce Vida, Angel Hair Polpette, Pollo Alla Marsala, and The Lobster Ravioli special. We enjoyed them all with a couple of bottles of red wine and it was delicious. I really can’t put into words how incredible this meal was! This is definitely at the top of my list for for the best restaurants in Savannah.

St. Neo’s Brasserie

St. Neo’s Brasserie was the restaurant we decided to have our first oysters at in Savannah! The decor here was adorable and the location is awesome as it’s right downtown on Drayton St.

We decided to just do drinks and appetizers here because the dinner wasn’t speaking to us but the oysters and the beef tartare were both excellent. We didn’t love the fried green tomatoes though as they came out cold and just didn’t compare to the ones we had earlier at B. Matthew’s.

I had my first Vesper Martini here and I absolutely loved it! A Vesper Martini consists of gin, vodka, and lillet (French aromatized aperitif wine) and holy shit it was yum AND strong!

Chive Seafood Bar and Lounge

Chive Seafood Bar and Lounge is located right downtown on Broughton St. and is a local favorite. My mama was actually in a Savannah for a girls trip right before I went and her and her girlfriends asked some locals where to eat and they recommended Chive and they had an awesome meal here!

I recommend the Tuna Ceviche (pictured above), The Chive Mussels, and the Ahi Tuna.

The Olde Pink House

The Olde Pink House is located in Savannah’s Historic District and serves classic Southern cuisine in an elegant mansion that was built in 1771. This place was a bit stuffy for my liking (when we put our name in they acted like we weren’t fancy enough) but it was still a fun experience and the food was good.

. This is a blurry tipsy photo of my pasta but it was sooo good. It was their caramelized vidalia onion and sweet potato ravioli with oyster mushrooms in a savory pecan ream sauce. Make sure you make a reservation here or get here early as this place gets extremely busy!

Ice Cream in Savannah

Leopold’s

Leopold’s has been serving up homemade ice cream for over a century now. They’ve kept their building and ice cream the same since 1919 and so good! They also have made from scratch soups, sandwiches, salads and freshly baked treats if you’re craving more than just ice cream.

It’s amazing and worth the wait but just know the wait is rarely short…We waited in line for over an hour on Friday night!

Overall, I absolutely loved the restaurants in Savannah! This city is so great for food, shopping, exploring and so much more! Thanks so much for reading along! Have you been to Savannah?
